Arise with knowledge from the Gita & Upanishads
Choose the good, not just the pleasant, to reach your goal.
Katha Upanishad 1.2.1
The good is one thing and the pleasant another; both pull a person in different directions. It goes well for the one who takes the good; one who chooses the pleasant misses the goal.
You are aware of what is good, and that is a valuable insight. The pleasant can distract you from that deeper goodness; be mindful of that pull. Choose the good, even when it’s harder, and keep your focus on what truly matters.
When tempted by an easy pleasure, pause and ask: 'Is this truly good for me?'
