पराञ्चि खानि व्यतृणत् स्वयम्भू- स्तस्मात्पराङ्पश्यति नान्तरात्मन् । कश्चिद्धीरः प्रत्यगात्मानमैक्ष- दावृत्तचक्षुरमृतत्वमिच्छन् ॥
Katha Upanishad 2.1.1
The senses were made to turn outward, so people look outward and not within. A wise person, seeking what lasts, turns the gaze inward and sees the self.
You’ve found peace, and it’s natural to want to keep it. Because people look outward, it’s easy to lose that quietness. Turn your attention inward, even briefly, to see the self that holds this peace.
