उत्तिष्ठ Uttishtha

Arise with knowledge from the Gita & Upanishads

Beyond your sadness, there is a larger, greater reality.

समाने वृक्षे पुरुषो निमग्नोऽ नीशया शोचति मुह्यमानः । जुष्टं यदा पश्यत्यन्यमीशमस्य महिमानमिति वीतशोकः ॥

Mundaka Upanishad 3.1.2

On that same tree, a person caught up in it grieves, feeling helpless and confused. But when they see the other, the Lord, and that greatness, their sorrow falls away.

You feel caught, like someone on a tree, and that’s a natural part of being human. The verse suggests there's a larger view, a 'greatness' beyond your current sadness. Look for a moment today where you can feel connected to something larger than yourself.

Find a place outside and look at the horizon, noticing its vastness.
